Cross-disciplinary Research

Increasing output through deliberate, focused, and systematic collaboration.

We combine different perspectives and methods to achieve innovative and holistic solutions to complex research problems

We understand collaboration is essential in cross-disciplinary research. With a focus on collaboration and communication strategies, knowledge sharing, and the adaptation of strategic communication plans, our holistic approach that addresses complex research challenges guarantees that our research efforts are thorough.

Our teamwork approach and the diverse nature of our research team with a strong belief in the added value of our research efforts is key for our confidence to explore and initiate cross disciplinary research.  We operate on a clear and shared vision on what a successful cross-disciplinary research project looks like to help harmonise our team effort while delivering innovative and practical cross-disciplinary research  services that contribute to the global and long-term quality of life of people and animals.

Our approach

Insight. Creativity. Practicality.

We don’t operate a one-size-fits-all approach to informing decision making. We brainstorm and develop a customised plan that will optimise your needs.

Concept

We believe conscious effort is required to achieve long-term success. Therefore, we devise methods to meet your needs, either by adopting your strategy or changing what you already have to offer.

Build

We focus on what needs to be done to deliver an innovative, bespoke service according to your schedule. Building on our well-rounded teams that complement their abilities, we keep your projects on schedule and your budgets intact.

Test

With curiosity comes the need for systematic investigation. We use evidence-based approaches and proven best practices to monitor and evaluate the outcomes to determine if they are valuable.

Our Integrated Approach

We are committed to strengthening capacity through scientific research, mentoring, and training. Our work is delivered through four interconnected initiatives:

GAP (Guidance, Access, and Pathways)

Empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to reach their full potential in STEM is central to our “Education for All” vision, delivered through the GAP initiative. We provide tailored support by connecting young people to relevant local resources, mentorship opportunities, and developmental pathways aligned with interests, enabling them to progress confidently towards future education and career goals.

CARE (Collaborative Alliance Research and Education)

Through our CARE Programme, Episcope delivers and supports a wide range of epidemiological research and educational initiatives, both independently and in partnership with organisations and academic institutions. We apply our expertise in epidemiology and public health to design and conduct high-quality studies that contribute to improved health outcomes and the reduction of health inequalities. Our partnerships have resulted in the development of innovative research, curricula, and practical guidance that strengthen capacity in epidemiology and public health training across diverse settings.

IPP+ (Infection Prevention Project Plus)

We support the fundamental, evidence-based practice of effective hand hygiene as a key strategy for preventing infectious diseases, recognising that infection prevention is a priority for everyone. As part of our IPP+ programme, we collaborate with organisations such as Infection Prevention Action Network (IPAN) to raise awareness of infection prevention and promote best practices across communities. We also provide tailored training and consultancy services at multiple levels to support the implementation of effective infection prevention measures. In addition, we recognise the critical role of infection prevention in improving maternal and new-born health outcomes. Through IPP+, we integrate targeted interventions that promote safe hygiene practices during pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care, supporting safer caregiving practices at both community and service levels.

EpiTrain (Public Health and Infection Prevention Training)

The Episcope team brings strong expertise in statistical and epidemiological data analysis, including the interpretation of data from routine monitoring, disease outbreaks, and complex epidemiological investigations. Through our Epitrain programme, we deliver high-quality training in disease surveillance and control, health improvement and protection, policy development and advocacy, research and evaluation, and academic writing, supporting capacity building across diverse settings.

Epidemiological studies play a key role in identifying and understanding the multiple factors that contribute to disease risk, emphasising the complex, multifactorial nature of these risks. Recognising the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, we leverage our expertise in epidemiology and health data analytics to design and conduct studies that enhance health and well-being for all.
